The Catholic Wisdom — What 10 Years of Ministry Taught Us That Books Couldn’t

What Is FAFE Ministry Content?

Over ten years of walking with Catholics through dating, discernment, and marriage preparation, we’ve built something you won’t find in a textbook: practical guides forged from real coaching conversations. FAFE Ministry content sits in the space between what the Church teaches and what Monday morning actually looks like. We help people apply that wisdom to specific, messy, human situations. Church teaching with a phone number you can actually call.

Why It Matters for Dating and Marriage

The Catechism is beautiful. Theology of the Body changed my life. But neither of them tells you what to do when you’re three dates in and you can’t tell if he’s genuinely interested or just bored. Our 457 documented teaching chunks come from hundreds of coaching sessions where someone sat across from us and needed a concrete next step. Attachment, communication, intimacy, boundaries, discernment – all of it tested in real conversations, not written at a desk. Church teaching tells us who we are — created good, wounded by sin, and being restored in Christ. Our ministry content helps people live inside that story on a Tuesday night when feelings get complicated.

One Teaching We Use Every Day

We call it the “green flag vs. green light” distinction. A green flag means someone shows emotional availability, communicates honestly, and respects your pace — it’s data worth paying attention to. A green light means you feel ready to move forward. The two don’t always arrive together. Coaching people to notice the difference, and to wait until they have both, has saved more relationships than we can count.

How We Apply It

In True Love (Young Adults 20-39): The Game of Love virtual coach draws on our full library of practical dating guidance. Whether someone’s working through a breakup, evaluating a relationship, or figuring out how to bring up exclusivity, the coach pulls from the same material we use in live sessions.

In Before Forever (High School 14-19): Module 6 exercises put this content into language teens can use. Healthy relationship signs, communication basics, and why good boundaries are actually a form of care for the other person.

FAQ

Q: Is FAFE Ministry content just opinion, or is it grounded in Church teaching? A: Every practical guide we produce is anchored in Church sources — the Catechism, Theology of the Body, Scripture, and the work of Catholic psychologists and theologians. The practical layer sits on top of that foundation, not apart from it. If a coaching insight doesn’t hold up against Church teaching, we don’t use it.

Q: Where can I access this content if I’m not in a coaching program? A: The Game of Love app gives you on-demand access to a virtual coach trained on our full teaching library. Our blog also publishes articles from this same body of work — free, searchable, and organized by topic so you can find what you actually need right now.
